This isn't mine or even anyone's that I know.

It was posted on the Motorcycle STOLEN! (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151125330837683&set=a.39940187682.53207.757322682&type=1&ref=nf) group on Facebook, and since it was a Sportster, I thought I would post the details here.

I hope you get your bike back, man. I just got my first American motorbike, a 1990 Sportster 883. I can lo longer keep it in the garage because the carb & petcock leak gas, even when the petcock is in the "off" position & somehow it manages to make the entire house, not just the garage, smell like gas. The wife was furious! Hopefully, nobody will take mine as I'm either going to have to chain it to the posts beneath the car port adjacent to the garage or put it in the shed. Granted, mine is not even anywhere near as nice looking as yours is. I hope you get it back and the thieves get what they deserve.

Might be hard to identify, I've seen hundreds that look exactly the same as that bike.

Again, not mine. Posted from Motorcycle STOLEN! (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151125330837683&set=a.39940187682.53207.757322682&type=1&ref=nf) (<--hyperlink) group on Facebook.
The o-ring in the petcock has probably deteriorated and is an easy fix. Or just replace it. Not an expensive outlay vs having it stolen and insurance possibly not covering it while kept outside.

Not all "hundreds" of them will have the same registration plate number though.
