I broke both bones in my leg and shattered my inner ankle the xray shows the metal plate holding my big leg bone together with pins and 2 pins that are not conected to the plate where put in to hold the broke bone secure until I got the plate the little thin bone has a section of bone that is broke off up towards the knee that can not be fixed or helped any

Well, we've all heard about getting right back on that horse, but you are certifiable! As one who knows what it feels like to use duck tape to hold a boot on, I'm very impressed. Best of luck on your continuing recovery! Cheers

Must have been nice. You gotta be glad to be rolling again - but don't push it so hard that you'll mess up your recovery timeline.

Damn Ink, you look like hell in those first pics! Were you fighting a passel of ninjas or sumpin? Did a house fall on ya or what? Jeez, after those pics anything is a big improvement.

Just havin' a little fun witcha! Glad to see that you've healed up enough to take the motorsickle outta the shed for a ride. That's what i call PT for the soul. Hang in there. I have an idea what yer going through - back in the Seventies, I was out riding with walking cast on my right foot. I tended to hit the brake pedal a little too hard sometimes, hahaha. Are you still wearing the fixator?

lol thanks everyone is sur was nice I cant exsplain in words the rush of joy that came over me, not sure if ill ever be able to use my foot to shift but there is ways around that so not real worried I did have a slight hesitation going into my first turn but that's to be expected I guess my wife wasn't to pleased with me infact she refused to snap any pics I had to get my daughter to do it lol

no I no longer wear the Fixator I was put into a hard cast after that and wore it for a month then told the doc I wasn't wearing it any longer because the itchiness was driving me nuts so he said as long as I keep off the foot he would put me in a removable walking boot until I start therapy I do go back in on Thursday andhoping to find out when we can start walking again

well here is an update I am afficially back on 2 wheels, I have been working hard at shifting movments with my bad foot and trying to get used to walking without crutches against dr's orders but im fed up with sitting around I need to ride. after these last set of pics I gave up the crutches so I have been walking a short bit of time now and doing good aside from a permanent limp I now have but atleast im walking again, this week I desided to ditch the walking boot and try walking in shoes that I was able to do but I don't like to ride in shoes so I tried to slip my foot into my Harley riding boots and I can not get my bad foot into them any more do to the zipper on the side so I turned to my old lace up work boots and after unlacing them all the way I bearley was able to bend my foot just enough to slip down into them so it was on like donkey kong lol time to ride...I called my brothers and told them I wanted to get out for a good full days ride and a long distance ride at that and that's just what we did we left at about 8 am and didn't return until 9pm that night WHAT A GOOD RIDE... I so have missed being out on the black top and this ride was my first time feeling out my Harley im in love all over again ....I pushed myself a bit to hard that day and was acking in my ankle area and shin from shifting and what have ya but man it was so worth it we had 40 mph winds that day and I didn't care 1 bit I made sure to go on a few twisties to get over my skidish feelings since my wreck and was a bit hesatint at first but took after it without fear and won that little battle no sweat anyway here is a pic my wife took at some point

Awww man, I get that old feeling again - busted, bruised and broken but I gotta ride dammit! I remember that all too well.

There's a company(I don't remember who) that makes footboards that function as the shifter and brakes. Sumpin' like that might be just the ticket for ya. Regardless, I hope ya continue to blast back on two wheels. Party on Wayne...

I feel your pain, well, some of it anyway. I just have had a Cervical-Thoracic fusion, C7-T1 and will have to be really careful to follow the surgeons instructions to allow the graft site to grow together and become strong. Mentally you are thinking positively which can aid healing but too much activity, too soon, even though feeling good can inhibit your recovery. Your young, you'll heal fast, so some unsolicited advice from an old man, push the envelope a little but don't completely ignore the recovery advice from your surgeon. Your body will reward you for it.
