well i got my starter fixed and i need to refill the case but i need to kno what kinda oil do i use

Same stuff that came from the factory.
Sport-Trans but if you can't find it, it's been replaced by Formula+.

If you have a dealer nearby, just ask and they'll tell you what you need.

i kno but im tryin to find out what the weight is i went to the dealer and they told me like 60w also how tight do i put the chain tennisioner on

Big mystery from the factory. Just like the fork oil, they don't list the weights on the bottles. One way of keeping you from buying other products I guess.

They (Harley) say the SYN3 is fine for tranny use and that is listed as 20W50 on the bottle.

Chain tension................
Looking through the Primary Chain Inspection Cover
Cold engine.....3/8"-1/2"
Hot engine.......1/4"-3/8"
Vertical free play.

You can go with a synthetic 20W-50 in the engine and transmission, and only use one fluid instead of two.

I wouldn't use an engine oil in a 06' or newer tranny. Use the Formula Plus or a synthetic gear lube like 75W-90 Mobil 1 or Redline.
