My wife and I will be in the Binghamton area Sun. the 10th thru Fri the 15th.
We ARE bringing the bikes. :banana

I spoke with Dooley about an hour ago via his cell phone... he is currently driving from NC north, headed toward the southern tier of NY.

Most likely I will be meeting him somewhere in Northeast PA or upstate NY for a ride tomorrow, Sunday 9/10. I know it's short notice, but since dooley doesn't have computer access he wanted me to post this in case anyone else was interested in meeting for a ride.

It's supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow...
Would live to meet some more people if anyone in the area wants to join us!

Details on meeting place & time TBA later tonight... drop a line here if you think you are interested.

Just talked to dooley... he and his wife have arrived safe in the Binghamton NY area, and we plan to meet tomorrow late morning around 10:30 am.

Location: Great Bend, PA... easy off Interstate 81 just south of the NY State line. There is a diner there, I will probably be chuggin' coffee waiting for dooley. It's not a big town, just listen for the Sportys if you don't see us. :roflblack

No one else seen this post yet, or is everyone unavailable? Gary? Lager? Kev? Roadogette, you always say "Hi from upstate NY"... come on along!

Well,I made my way to a computer at my sisters house.
She tells me that diner was flooded out, but there is a Dunkin Doughnuts in the same plaza, and we can meet up there.
We were planning on meeting up at 10:30, but I hear there has been some very bad fog here in the morning that takes a long time to clear up.
I`ll be talking to Clarinetcat in the morning and hopefully we can set a definite time.

I'd like to come down, but I have to go to work tomorrow.

I've been on the fence all day. I was just about to say f uck work I'll be there, but I gotta get some test code done for the A-hole hardware engineer I work with. I hate this friggin job lately and hate the A-hole hardware guy I work with who's been blowing off this project all summer while I've been busting my ass getting the software ready, now do to his ineptness we have one week to finish the project and it's going to be a bitch to do that because he finally decided it's time for him to start working on it... Grrrrrrrr

Saturday 9/9… I got a PM from Dooley…
He was headed back to his hometown area of Binghamton, NY for a week’s vacation, and was bringing the bikes… asked if I was interested in meeting for a ride.

Me?!?!? Interested in a ride?!?!? Of course!!!!!

So we got together today, Sunday 9/10… me, Dooley, his lovely wife, brother-in-law, and uncle & aunt in-law. Mostly overcast sky, temps in the mid 60’s… fully geared up for a brisk ride through the hills and countryside of northern Pennsylvania, just south of Binghamton and the NY State line.

We ended up going from our meeting point in Great Bend, PA south to Montrose, PA on Route 29 and stopped to fuel up. After spending 20 minutes trying to decide what direction to head, we ultimately heard the wild call of our stomachs groaning, “Spiedies… Spiedies… Spiedies…”. So we turned back north toward Binghamton on Route 167… what a fun road! Nice scenery and moderate twisties kept us entertained the whole way. As we rumbled into the city, the sound of our engines reverberated off the buildings downtown… :shhhh :doh

Finally we arrive… Lupo’s! For those of you who have never had Spiedies and have no clue what it is, check out Lupo’s Spiedies Home Page (http://www.spiedies.com/spiedies.htm) and learn a little bit about what we ate for lunch…
Mmmmmmmmm, Mmmm!

I didn’t take many pictures, as I was having too much fun riding!

(Mine is faster… it’s BLACK)

At Lupo’s, from the left… Dooley, Mrs. Dooley, Uncle, Big Mr. C, and adorable Auntie

I must say it was a pleasure having the opportunity to meet Dooley and his family members. It was a great day, traveling with other intelligent, experienced bikers who knew how to ride as a group, keeping formation and taking their time to enjoy the ride.
Thank you kindly! Sincerely, Cat

Faster cause it`s black?....:roflblack :roflblack :roflblack :roflblack :roflblack as IF!!
Actually, you may have been a bit faster, the difference in elevation from North Carolina to Upstate New York was giving me the carb farts wicked today.
Or mabey I just ate too much at Lupos?:laugh
I`ll try to post some pics after I get back from Vacation.

Hey guys, should have posted last night, but was too tired. Would liked to have come down, but my BF and I had other plans. We rode around the Adirondacks today. A trip we've been planning for a couple of weeks. Glad you guys had a good time.

Red (and yellow) is faster yet ;)

Looks like you had a great ride...
I had an exciting as normal day at work :headbang

Wish I went on the ride instead. My buddy finally showed
up at work about 1:30pm and stopped in said "I'm going for
a little ride" on his POS BMW, then he came back after
a couple hours and proceeded to get more of nothing
done :headbang but I got some stuff done that I needed
to have for tomorrow, so it wasn't a total waste.

Missed you folks today debster, grizz, roadogette, and Gary... maybe before the snow flies we can do a fall foliage run up around Binghamtom or something... seems like a central meeting place for us.

I really wanted to ride with Dooley today as he is only here for a week... pleased I had an opportunity to ride with him here as my chances of getting to NC are like... 'nil. :(

Sounds like you had a nice time! Glad you all got together. And thanks for posting the link for speidies -- I never heard of 'em.

I don't know if Binghamton is a "central" meeting place or not -- it's about 200+ miles from where I am. Just getting there might be a fall foliage run!

Ooooo... 200+ miles isn't central for you then.

I think alot of the other folks are within 100'ish miles of Binghamton.

Regardless, we'll keep you updated!

Well, the rain is putting a damper on riding today.

We got out for a good run yesterday and got some good pics.
I am using my sisters Mac here in NY and have no idea how to upload them, since she has no card reader and my dog ate the usb cable for my camera months ago.:(
Guess I`ll have to post them when I get home.
A bit of culinary info for folks riding to Binghamton:
I was a bit dissapointed in Lupos the other day, service and quality have gone down hill bigtime.
Try The Spiedie and Rib Pit on upper Front St. instead.
Or for the best ribs and wings you have ever had, go to Theo`s Southern Style BBQ on Main St., just past the arch.
See you all in a few days when I`m back from vacation:tour
