Maybe they just got caught in a flash flood and got tangled together after they drowned?

There was a large herd of caribou that drowned in Labrador a few years back. I remember the video of the army hoisting hundreds of bodies in nets suspended under Chinook choppers. (So they wouldn't foul the river as the carcasses rotted) They just piled em up and let the black flies eat em to the bone.

I can't see three bucks fighting in the water but I guess anything is possible.
