Not specifically, but the Sky Cranes were used to recover a lot of the jets that went down in Vietnam. Seen lots of them bringing in whatever could be recovered from fighters and FACs. With almost no roads and usually very bad terrain where they had to crash land, the Sky Cranes were the only way to recover anything. That plane was off the Coral Sea and the Coral Sea was deployed in the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam War.

One of the first things I learned as an apprentice carpenter was never carry a sheet of plywood with myself on the outside of the roof. Always carry with the plywood on the outside. That way you can let go. Then I became a stair builder, much safer and a lot more rewarding.
