The shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) also known as whalehead, is a very large stork-like bird. It derives its name from its enormous shoe-shaped bill. It has a somewhat stork-like overall form and has previously been classified with the storks in the order Ciconiiformes based on this morphology.

I had to google Morton Salt girl as I had no idea... Certainly there are similarities so I think we could probably safely call that Salty Dog :p
The painting though is by Igor Mudrov an artist based out of California. I think he calls the painting "Umbrella for two". A lot of his images are girls, rain, and umbrellas; so who knows, maybe the Morton ads influenced him :D

This "Morton Salt" design was drawn up by an advertising company in 1911. It's been on Billboards and roadsigns , TV etc. since then.. It's a regular ICON in the USA.
BUT.. it is Art! I really like the art you posted but just couldn't resist poking some fun. Oh btw a Salty dog is Vodka or Gin w/ Grapefrit Juice and salt on the rim:laugh(but then you probably already knew that)

No thanks, I sold every goat that I had here. If there is a hole in the fence a chihuahua could get through, the goats will find it. The city of Tallahassee does keep a large herd to try to keep the kudzo under control.

I was a loadmaster on the C-130-E models which came into service in 1962. Flew them out of Ton Sun Nhut AB from 1970-73. Later models of the C-130 are still in use by US military services. They are also still in use by the military and civilian branches of many foreign countries.

The latest variant that I am aware of being in US military service is the C-130-J-30 Super Hercules.

Nope, just about the time I started to post it I noticed I didn't put an end img tag on it. When I tried to edit it I lost my DSL connection. The DSL out here sucks. Sometimes it will go off 10 times a day. They either can't or won't fix it because there is no other providers in the area and they know they got us by the short hairs.
