It's amazing what they can do, but just like skate videos, it's all done over and over and over and over and over til' they get the right shot.

Bought my wife a new car Saturday for Mother's Day. 6 hours later, some High School kid backed out of his driveway and smashed the front end of it (my wife was parked). It's not near the damage of this Camaro, but she had only put 25 miles on it. On the way to the scene I was pulling out credit cards adding up $ to make sure I had enough for bail. The police beat me there so it wasn't needed. Fortunately the kid has good insurance, and he still has all of his teeth.

Remember the Bad Dog 215 cubic inch V-Twin we mentioned last year? Bill Price, the man behind the engine, hasn’t been sitting around, he’s been hard at work sourcing parts for the prototype and refining the design. I haven’t been watching very closely and Doug Staab, one of our contributors here, just sent me a note to check out the pistons. Ho boy! Now that’s what I call a piston!
These are what pistons designed to fit a 6 inch bore look like. Bill’s hands give you a reference because numbers just don’t convey what a 6 inch bore really means. Just think, 2 of these in a V-Twin displacing 3500cc or 215 cubic inches! Yikes!

This is what wikipedia has to say about the 'exploding whale'...
A second whale explosion occurred on January 26, 2004, in Tainan City, Taiwan. In this incident, a buildup of gas inside a decomposing sperm whale, measuring 17 m (55 ft 9 in) long and weighing 50 tons, caused it to burst. The explosion was mysterious to many scientists because of the nature of the burst, since it occurred on the spine of the whale. It was later revealed that the whale was likely struck by a large shipping vessel, weakening the animal's back and leading to its death. The older bull whale had died after becoming beached on the southwestern coast of Taiwan, and it had taken more than 13 hours, three large cranes, and 50 workers to shift the beached sperm whale onto the back of a truck.
While the whale was being moved, Taiwan News reported that "a large crowd of more than 600 local Yunlin residents and curiosity seekers, along with vendors selling snack food and hot drinks, braved the cold temperature and chilly wind to watch workmen try to haul away the dead marine leviathan". Professor Wang Chien-ping had ordered the whale be moved to the Sutsao Wild Life Reservation Area after he had been refused permission to perform a postmortem at the National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. The whale was being transported on the back of a truck through the center of Tainan from the university laboratory to the preserve when the explosion occurred. However, it did not stop researchers from performing a necropsy on the animal.
The explosion was reported to have splattered blood and whale entrails over surrounding shop-fronts, bystanders, and cars. BBC News Online interviewed an unnamed Taiwanese local who said, "What a stinking mess. This blood and other stuff that blew out on the road is disgusting, and the smell is really awful."
Over the course of about one year, Professor Wang completed a bone display from the remains of the whale's rotting dead body. The assembled specimen and some preserved organs and tissues have been on display in the Taijiang Cetacean Museum since April 8, 2005.
A stranded whale in Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, also decayed until it exploded. Locals reported that its blubber "hung in the trees for weeks."

You'll notice that the Wikipedia quote I used started with "A second whale explosion..." 'cos this was the first one they wrote about. It's definitely the more famous of the two whale explosions. (Not a phrase you hear of every day!) :p

One of my old bosses had a 63 Vette similar to this one (red convertable...his with M4 tranny, 4:11 rear gears, high horse 327). He bought it brand new in '63 when he graduated from Vet school as a present to himself. It was all original just like he bought it. I cant rember exact numbers but I think it blue booked for around $75k. However, if he had bought a '63 hardtop (with the split rear window) with those options he would have a very rare, and highly coveted, Corvette that would be worth close to double that (womp womp).

Having got an uncle buried in a war cemetery I can't quite see it.
Neither can I. I can't help thinking about what WE owe to those who fell for OUR freedom.
As this originally comes from someone who served for 22 years in the Army, I can to some extent, understand that there is some self-irony in this post, ... but ...
I happen to live some 60 miles from Verdun, and one place I regularly visit in that area is the "Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery" in Romagne -sous-Montfaucon. Over 14,300 crosses and Maguen David over 64 hectares, and these represent less than one third of all those US soldiers who lost their lives on that small piece of land, during Gen. Pershing's offensive, which BTW only lasted a few weeks.
Ride further north, and you'll find British cemeteries, and Belgians, and let's not forget the ANZACs...
May they all rest in peace.

I'll take the ac cobra, despite how much fun the mini would be to drive. I just love the shape: the lines and the curves of the ac cobras.

My parents cat will track the mouse cursor...........
And then when you move it off the screen she'll look around the side of the monitor or jump up on top of the monitor if you move the mouse cursor up and out of site..

But is it a kit or the real deal?
If it's a kit, I drive it and keep it.
If it's the real deal, I drive it once, sell it and then retire.
