On Custom Flames website, there is a customer in Havre De Grace, MD with an '02 Custom that has a cool paint scheme.

I'm taking a chance to see if the owner is a member here. If you are, can you post pictures of your bike or direct me to your gallery. Thanks

You sure thats not a BT tank. Custom flame painting has tons of nice flame jobs. Do you need a pic of a sporty with copper ghost flames?

The guy (Scott) at Custom Flames said this is a "stretch" tank for an '02 Custom. There are tons of pictures. Here's another one that's supposed to fit my bike.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to switch tanks. BlueBear got his stuff from these guys.

Thats what I had when my bike was green. Be careful with those ebay tanks. Mine started leaking after about 4000 miles. I eventually sold it. I choppeed my seat downso it was not taller than the tank. http://www.clubchopper.com/photopost/data/500/7566med_pic.jpg

Too cool. Is that an old seat. I like. BlueBear said that his was a Drag Specialties tank. If I went through with this, I guess I would get the tank from Custom Flames. Are you saying that the tanks are junk? Thanks Ralph.

I am saying that mine started leaking at the rear mount and it would have required some cutting and rewelding to make it solid. The tank also needed a good bit of bodywork to get it smooth before it was able to be painted. That bodywork is gonna cost you. Thanks for reminding me how much I liked my bike in that pearl metalic green.

I guess I don't understand. I would buy this stuff from these guys already painted and ready to put on my bike. Look at this thread (http://www.xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=47680)
This is how I got started on this kick. You've got me a little worried now.

I am just telling you that mine is not the only one that has had a leak. I don't know if they are all made by the same taiwanese company but mine was in a drag specialties box when it arrived. Make sure you seal it well and make sure the rubber mounting is good and you might never have a problem. My bike is beefed up and vibrates a good bit and that can cause a lot of stuff to break.

Nah. I'm going to punt on this. I don't need the headaches. So no one makes a decent stretch tank? Thanks Ralph. You save me the headache and a lot of $$.

You never know. The custom flame painters might be getting them somewhere else. His set is also for an 04-06 which might be different. http://customflamepainting.com/cgi-bin/parts/classifieds.cgi
