Now as I'm older I sometimes wish I had waited for the electric start. Then I think of how many times the kicker saved my drunk a**.Now for some reason I just wonder if the XL would've lasted as long as the CH.It'a a AMF had a problem with it jumping back down into 1st gear from 2sd when I first got it so blueprinted trans and installed a barnett clutch the 1st year I had it that fixed that problem.Basically other than afew carb rebluids that's all that ever been done to motor.
I know this maybe more than Y'all wanted to know here but I know AMF caught a bad rap back in the day but I'll have to say mine must have been built during the middle of the week. Also notice it came from Hell Harley the last 3#'s on my driver license is 666 the last 3#'s on my Vietnam Veterans Of America members card is 666 and my unit patch in the Nam looked like a pitch fork the 4th Trans Batt

I have the 1973 XLCH also. Got it from a friend of mine with 900 miles on it back in 1974. Had it a year and it was stolen. Got a call a year later from an Alabama State Trooper who found it. I got it back and have had it ever since. I love that bike.
