Here's the bike I rode in 1982-'85.
I loved this bike. Turbine smooth, as quick as my current XL; faster too. Life behind that factory fairing was all calm and quiet. It was the perfect sport-tourer. I mounted a set of Krauser (BMW) hard bags; that rack could swing backwards to allow room for a passenger.
I would cruise comfortably at an indicated 125 mph. I wish I still had it. I've seen them on the used market, but they're all beat after 30 years of neglect/abuse and the ravages of U.V. rays,
and none have that fairing.
In the spring of '86 I went a little crazy and sold it for a couple of oceangoing kayaks. I've still got the kayaks. Plus a Sportster!

they were really cool bikes. i had a kawi 650 SR. Had crossover pipes and was really nice. Sold my too for a stupid reason...but alas, I was in my innocent youth.
