I never would have thought I would have cared about a dog as I did. When I herd people talking about loosing a pet years ago I would kinda smirk and think it's just a dog. Now I can totaly understand.
We had her for 14 years and it was the hardest decision I ever had to make. Her quality of life was getting less and less each day.

RIP little Dottie.........

That's is terrible news. I am sorry for your loss, but am glad you managed to enjoy life a little happer with Dottie.

Dogs have one priority in life... Love your master unconditionally. Hope you remember her in the same way...

One of the things that helped me get over the loss of my Sophie (18 years old and died at my feet) was I got a puppy, then another puppy so they could play with each other. Nothings helps you get over the loss of a pet more than another pet. However, no dog can every come close to my Sophie ... but these two have turned out to be great dogs themselves.

it will be almost a year now that I had to put down my boxer. we rescued her at age 4, and she developed cancer in her toe. we had the toe removed and it spread to her foot. we had the whole leg removed and she lived another 7 years of a happy fulfilling (as far as a dogs life can be) life. I feel my family gave her a good life but when her quality of life had deteriorated we felt it would be selfish to keep her alive so we wouldn't miss her. I'm sorry for your loss because nothing can ever take your pets place.
