hope that by posting what's on my mind occaisionally, I can get to know XLforum folks better, and share both motorcycle thoughts and non-moto thoughts and thereby communicate, making the world a better place (lol), blah blah blah....

Been toying with the notion for quite awhile.
Lately I've been wearing a fullface helmet anyway, so protection from rain from a bigger windshield won't be as much of an issue now in summer. Up til now summer has been a main "windshield" month so as to not get peppered by stinging Florida summer rain.
But wearing a fullface, it won't be as much of an issue.
Still can put my bigger shield back on for long roadtrips. But no long roadtrips in my foreseeable future, unfortunately.
So the Sporty is getting changed up a bit!
Also, I'm gonna go ahead and swap out my pullback risers for straight 3 inch risers. With the bars I've got, I'm just not digging the look of all those changes of angles. Like fork to pullback angle then to bar angle. Be different if I was running a low bar or a drag bar with the pullbacks...but I'm using the near-buckhorn stock "low" bars (which I love). So there's just too many changes of angle and stuff to have a clean look.
Due to the natural angling back of the forks I don't think the difference in final position of my grips will change much. PLus now my bars are rotated forward in the clamp a bit. When I put the 3 inch straight risers on I will go ahead and tip them back a little so the "rise" portion of the bars lines up with the angle of the forks and I have this hunch that my grips will end up very close to the same position as achieved with pullbacks and bars rotated forward. We'll see!
This is a good time of year to do this stuff for me, here in FL. Its just so freakin miserably hot that I just don't even want to bother riding.
Get home soaked through like a wet mop. (from sweat OR rain)
Anyway, when I get it all switched over I will post a before and after pic.
just thinking out loud on my blog...lol
oh yeah my chopper project is just sitting...its way too hot and wet out there to mess with it.
Will resume when temps and humidity fall a bit.
