OK. You guys know about my Mother-in-law, Reta, with the brain surgery she just went through.
Now there's more.

A couple months ago, my Father-in-law, Ray, got a bad cold that didnt want to go away.
Checked with the doctor and it was diagnosed as a pneumonia. That didnt want to go away either.
He was sent for X-Rays.
There's a shadow on one of his lungs.
More tests. He got the results the day before his wife's surgery and said it was scar tissue from previous lung infections and stuff.

Today I took him out for breakfast and we're talking and I asked how he felt. That's when Ray swore me to secrecy.

(I figure his secret is safe here, you guys wont say anything to people you shouldnt, right?)

Because of everybody being worried enough already with Reta's problems, he lied.
He has lung cancer.

.

It's early enough (hopefully) to be taken care of, but still, ,

I appreciate the trust he has in me but .
Anyway, his secret is safe here (I think and hope). There is no reason for me to dump this on my wife and everybody else. They will learn about it whenever he feels like it.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news....right on the heels of your MIL's surgery. I'm so glad he found it in the early stages. I wish him the best.....prayers being sent for you and your family. My grandmother had breast cancer. She found that in the early stages too. With the treatment she went through she recovered 100% and it's never returned anywhere in her body.....that was about 1990 I think. Treatment has only improved since then.
