Project IronHead : Tear it down

My 73 Sporty is my new project. I want to have her up and running sometime this summer. The Engine wants to turn when I jump spark but the electrical work on it is crappy. Parts of the electrical system has been rerouted and stuff taken out like fuse boxes and other important things to keep the electronics safe. I am working directly from the schematics in the manual to get it as close as possible. Has anyone else had to rewire their whole bike? Sucks but when it is all said and done I will know exactly what I am looking at. That is a big plus down the road when I have to get back to trouble-shooting.

I am finishing mine up now. I have no fuse box and there is none in the service manual. There are circuit breakers. There should be three or 4 of them. They operate the same as fuses but reset themselves. Iron mic sent me some nice simplified wiring diagrams and trouble shooting links yesterday in a post to me checkem out. Very informative stuff. wished I had them before I started. This is a great web sight because, working on ironheads has become a lost art. Most shops these days wont even touch em. So I been learning to do it all my self.
