some equipment changes

Posted 6th September 2009 at 22:26 by emzdogz (EMZ' BLOG mush from Aunty Em's brain)

well I changed some of the bolt-on stuff on my 07 XL1200L over the summer. Just today went for a ride to really test out how I like it all.

Went from a Memphis Shades handlebar-mount shield to a National Cycles "Flyscreen".

Went from a Drag Specialities 2-up seat to a Mustang WIDE solo.

Went from sissy bar and some sort of bag attached, to NO sissy bar at all, and instead a pair of Willie and Max bags mounted up with Easy Brackets.

got my little flyscreen on

Posted 12th August 2009 at 00:52 by emzdogz (EMZ' BLOG mush from Aunty Em's brain)

Might bring it down an inch to close gap over eyebrow. OTOH, this way, it hides the upward sticking speedometer really well.

So we shall see!

I'm impressed with the quality of the shield.

Next: install hardware for easy brackets!

ordered me a fly screen!

Posted 29th July 2009 at 16:50 by emzdogz (EMZ' BLOG mush from Aunty Em's brain)

Been toying with the notion for quite awhile.

Lately I've been wearing a fullface helmet anyway, so protection from rain from a bigger windshield won't be as much of an issue now in summer. Up til now summer has been a main "windshield" month so as to not get peppered by stinging Florida summer rain.
But wearing a fullface, it won't be as much of an issue.

Still can put my bigger shield back on for long roadtrips. But no long roadtrips in my foreseeable...

serious SERIOUS boredom

Posted 23rd February 2009 at 16:48 by emzdogz (EMZ' BLOG mush from Aunty Em's brain)

sigh...I can feel the wind being kicked up by my twiddling thumbs.

You know "Smokey and the Bandit" was a brilliant film - I really think so. Lots of genius there. I RE-enjoyed it this weekend in HD and laughed more than ever.

VH-1 classic also had a really cool series on Sunday, (they ran the whole thing) produced by the BBC about the history of R&B. VERY cool...very good stuff indeed. Made me feel decent about spending hours in front of the tube....

Friday...

Posted 24th October 2008 at 18:20 by emzdogz (EMZ' BLOG mush from Aunty Em's brain)

is your inner rock and roll crankin' yet?

I'm "feeling the Friday" and wishing it were 3:30 already.

Got that inner jukebox starting to crank...I know its only Friday, but that "Saturday Nights Alright" feeling(yeah Elton john, I know) starting to rumble.

Gotta do an oil change before I ride the Sporty again. Have been saying that since 2 roadtrips ago, but this time I MEAN IT. Going on 4k miles on this oil.
No $$ to buy oil...
