Nothing around the oil filter?

No, nothing...

On face value from the pics, it looks like it may be coming from the primary cover.
But looks can be deceiving and it may be coming from further up top.
Suggest cleaning the area real good, spray area and up top with dry antiperspirant, fire it up and watch for a wet spot.

Is the primary oil level correct or overfilled?

It often comes from places elsewhere.
I'm with Hippysmack's suggestion.

Yeah it is amazing how with vibration and wind, it can migrate from other places.

Though I must say, the underside of that engine is pretty damn clean. Wish the top of my bike looked that good. :D

I suppose it is correct, it is not easy for me to check it... Anyway the oil was changed a couple of years ago...
Dry antiperspirant...and what about a food coloring in the primary? Could be dangerous?

ChinCactus, yes, I like to clean even the most private areas of my bike :laugh

All joking aside....

My primary oil does not look as clear as yours although it may just be choice of oil.
There is a possibility that oil can leave the engine thru a bad sprocket seal and fill up the primary side.
Then you may get engine oil traveling up your clutch cable inside the sheath and then dripping down.
If you haven't changed primary oil in a couple years, well, it should be kind of dark or black I'd think.
Just making suggestions for you to ponder on.
Or it could just be a bad primary gasket.
Either way, you'll need to go in to find out.

Damn, that drip of oil in your second pic is mint condition.

Did you do a recent oil change? I’ve had oil spill when removing the oil filter plenty of times and it almost always ends up running down the front frame.

lucag 15th September 2021 09:50

I normally use Spectro stl oil.

Yes, it's quite clean maybe 'cause I didn't use my bike so much in the past two years...

I don't think the leak is due to a change of oil filter because once everything has been cleaned the leak comes back again, and again, and again....
