I will probably do this, but I doubt I'll find anything definitive. I've inspected everything possible without splitting the cases, except a close look at the pump drive gear (pulling that on Wednesday, will edit this post if I find anything). Oil that's in the pressure passages looks clean, but the glitter is so fine it's hard to see anyway. Doesn't even get caught in a paper towel when pouring the oil through (at least, not any that I can see).

The crank bearing into the cam chest. Open roller bearing. Not sure if it would pass air at running RPM, but definitely does when rotating by hand.
