While my comment was sorta tongue-in-cheek, if you watch those videos (linked above), you notice that there is very little sound produced ahead of the bike...

I can image walkers & bicyclists being surprised by an electric blur whizzing by them before they even know the bike is coming... Will animals notice them more or less than the current bikes???

How about in town - Will pedestrians hear them?
