Default decals under/over clearcoat?

i will be repainting my tins this winter, and picked up some slick 66 XL decals. since the tank is being repainted anyways, should the decals go under the clearcoat? or on top of everything?

Put them under the clear coat, then use multiple layers to bury them so they are smooth to the touch, then buff but becareful you don't cut thru the clear on the rounded edges..

Normally under the clear, but be prepared for disaster. Depending on the decal it may bubble no matter how careful you are. I had a hell of a time with my Shovelhead.
