Default Help! I can't get my Pulley Nut Off! Ahhhh!

Ok so I've just started my tear down of my 03 sporty...
I'm going to 88ci and I need to strip the case to have it bored...
Well I've got the top end off, cams out, starter out.. all the crap on top
now looking to pull the tranny... and I'm stuck....ugh..
I can't seem to get the pulley off...
Is there a trick to it?
My book says it has a left hand nut... ok clockwise to remove...
but I can't get this thing to budge....ugh

HELP...

They can also be tighter than ?&&^$%!

You might need a breaker bar and cheater pipe. An air impact wrench helps too.

Ummm
I have the 2003 H-D service manual P/N 99484-03
Chapter 6 Drive/transmission
Page 6-18 Figure 6-17 Transmission sprocket

"Note : Transmission sprocket nut has left-hand threads. Turn nut clockwise to loosen and remove from main drive gear shaft."

Now I'm really confused....

I'm sorry. I thought I read "primary" nut......on the crank shaft. The clutch basket and pulley on the other side of the trans ARE right-hand threads. Thanks for chiming in guys. I've edited my post.

The belt pulley is left hand thread. You'll prolly need an impact cuz there's red loctite there...

Ok call me chincy, cheap, or just plan crazy But I can't see paying $35-40 for
a impact socket I'm only going to use twice!
But I'll use a $1.5mil laser table sitting on my shop floor Hell ya!
Jumped on the computer drew it up, and cut the damn thing!
Put on my Welding helmet, and tigged up my own socket! FTW
Heat treat it with a torch and a can of oil...
Going home at 4:30 to show that nut who's boss!
