I chose to go with drag bars on 4" straight risers. These bars work better for me and my wrists appreciate it. They put my hands at near stock level, tipping me forward slightly, (which helps with my back issues), and it also raises my gages up approx. 4" so they are easier to see and I can keep my eyes on the road ahead better. If a straighter sitting position is required you could explore the "pull back" riser option.

I've got a set of the stock bars that came off of my 1200R if you're interested...

If not, I'd suggest going with a wide drag bar, then getting risers to fit. Dennis Kirk has an awesome return policy, so what I did was order 4 different sets of risers, two different heights, with and without pullback and returned the ones I didn't use. I found that the 5.5" straight risers had me slightly forward (which what I was looking for) and the 6.5" w/pullback put me almost sitting vertical. I'm only 5' 10", but have a sleeve length of 33 1/2".

Here's some pics with the 6.5 risers w/pullback:

How high I the rise on those? I might want to trade you for my 04 1200c bars! They are stock and don't have a huge rise I think they are the same as the 1200r bars only the "C" has a pull back riser
