I gave you instructions to change primary too. Are you doing the primary fluid? some folks do some don't. I have three machines so I always do them both so I don't forget which one needs it, which doesn't.

You can punch a hole at the top and bottom of the oil filter and drain it before removing it, that will help minimize the mess...but be SURE you can loosen it a bit first beforehand.
Also rather than pulling the drain plug an oil extractor is a good option, mine works on both my bikes and both cars (on cars the tube goes down the dipstick hole BUT this does not work on all) West Marine carries a good one and that is what I've been using for a few years at home and at work...
