My oldest friend, Bill felt that all motorcycle design peaked with the Iron Head Sportsters. I think that the bikes keep getting better, in spite of the bean counters at the MoFoCo.

I took a new Roadster out for a Demo ride at Daytona last March and I like the improvements enough that I'm planning to get one. I think it'll be even better than my Roadster is. That is, it will be once I've made a few changes to it.

I am sure a brand new Kia would be more dependable, get better gas mileage, maybe even run faster than a 57 Chevy too.

I feel that it doesn't matter how old it is, it's the rider who puts the soul into his/her bike.

I'm not so sure about that, I think my 2006 with 232,000 miles has soul to it.

But I know what you are saying, I feel that way about my 96 Heritage

Your bike has soul and you're happy with it. My bike has soul and I'm happy with it. We both win.

You don't need to worry too much about my opinions. I never owned a bike that didn't have a carburettor.

Turned over 28000 miles now. I paid for the gas on my son's bike and my bike for our whole Sturgis trip and figured up the gas mileage on both bikes combined for a 905 mile trip...it came to 53+ miles to the gallon.
