Depends on what and how you ride. Laced wheels are more flexible and durable. That is why they are mandated for moto cross bikes. Cast wheels resist torque warping and require less maintenance. Although they tend to break relatively easily. As for looks? One man's classic beauty is another's butt ugly.

Just wondering, but I think spokes look the best on a sporty.

I reckon spokes look better.
But, I would prefer alloys for "easier to live with".

+1 I replaced the pretty chrome spoked 16 inchers on my '17 1200C with Harleys' cast 18" front, 17" rear Super Low etc combination. 18" cast front wheel with tire was 5.5 lbs lighter than the OE 16". 17" cast rear with tire was 1 1/2 lbs lighter than the OE 16". I went with T31 Bridgestone radials. 120/70-18 front, 150/70-17 rear. Handling did improve and NO TUBES.

I watched e-bay for several months and found a 1200T rear (same as a Super low but the sides of the "spokes" are silver) reasonably priced. Front (Super Low wheel) I bought new from Surdyke. There were some on e-bay but they were all asking more than what I could buy a new wheel for. Go figure...

Went with spokes. More maintenance but the spokes look better with classic white walls.

Some wheels from HD are not all that expensive from the discount HD parts vendors...wheels for the SuperLow and new Roadster are roughly $330 ea.

That's strange; my custom spoked wheels (HD hubs, custom stainless steel spokes and Morad aluminum rims) are about the same weight lighter than the stock cast wheels!?!

You can build light spoked wheels with alloy rims, butted spokes etc. However, my HD spoked wheels were anything but light. I lost similar unsprung weight to Tomcat by swaping to HD cast weeks.
