Good luck. I like what a 2-1 exhaust does to low end and the plugs seemed to amplify it.

That's a nice dyno sheet.

I have to ask, you said your rear cylinder is the hotter one. Did you get temp readings to confirm this? Just asking because the front is almost always the hotter one on sporties.

I took a guess at the rear being hotter since it's being blocked by the front cylinder and the front plug was darker by a few shades. It's mothballed for the winter. I'll have to take my temp gun on a ride next season.......

The plug has just normal part throttle and some spirited street riding. Nothing very aggressive and mostly riding on the needle not the main jet

Nice dyno run! I was liking the results you got with the spark plug change and thought I'd look up some of those NGK's in the stock -7 heat range...no luck, they don't make them. Just a FYI to folks with stock type bikes.

*Edit, looks like they don't make a colder -9 also. Seems like the -8 is a specialty plug for oil head BMW twins.

They (the EK plugs) were put in the week before. And yes that is I believe the only bike those plugs are specked for. Thankfully the local shop owner is a Beamer guy and had a box of them. He had the platinum version too. I tried crossing the 7 heat range to a Denso and no luck. My ninja (98 ZX9R) uses a CR9EK plug. But I think it's a different plug size.

I do not know if that flat torque curve is the plugs or the combination of cams, 2-1 LSR exhaust, 883 heads etc......I lost the dyno chart from the first run to see what it looked like with the S&S shorty E. Like I said that room was hot as hell. And my ZX9R was down 8hp from the previous time I had it there. (I talked my brother into riding it there so I could do both bikes that day)

To add to the above. The CR series plug is a 10mm plug. Our D series is a 12mm plug. So in theory if I could find a sleeve to adapt a 10mm plug into a 12mm hold I'd have a hotter plug option.

The DCPR8EKC plugs are on Amazon for 10.82 each. Much cheaper than a shop cost.
