Mine is loaded with mods. 1200 conversion. Two into one Hooker thunder header, Andrews cams, and S&S super G carb, Dyno Tune ignition, etc. as far as my insurance company knows it's an 883 XLC. If I wreck it (God forbid) they will give me reimbursement for a 2001 XLC 883. That is the deal you take with performance mods. You get them at your own risk.

Finally back to what info you give them. all insurance companies share and hold data when ever you get a quote, have insurance or claim. If you get a quote for it at 1200cc it will be logged. In the event of a claim they trawl all this data and may use it against you.

Personally I wish mine had never been registered at 1200. You need to make a decision at what you officially class it at and stick to it.
Thanks for advice

Bikesure pride them selves on customised bikes. I am presently with them 883r-1200 + goodies. & a couple of other bikes.

I was with carol nash but I lost confidance as they did not seem to correctly state the model on my policy. Each year was the same conversation and then a loading for modifications they new about yars before!!

I spoke to one of there people at the NEC show were they sponser a custom bike stand.
I asked if any of these were insured with them
Telling him why I was no longer with them.
He assured me they would insure customs and to give them a try next time round.

Unhappy

Yep, Bikesure seem to be the best quoted £200 (comp) for a 883-1250 Hammer Conversion with whistle and bells mods.

Now how do I afford the 25% import tax on the Hammer kit......

try "Art and Boz are the boys to talk to in the UK. Hopefully this link will be useful http://www.xr1200ownersgroup.com/sit...ad.php?t=13597

Some good stuff on there including dyno charts, etc. "

they may be able to supply the parts if you are doing it yourself or just some information about what you need.

Why is it 25%? VAT is 20%.

I've never understood import duty; sometimes you have to pay it, sometimes you don't.
