Default FiftyTwo52

Our FiftyTwo52 for rubber mount Sportsters. Note the way the true-merge collector integrates into the kickup at the muffler. This is one of the secrets to its power output. We are working on a "Hooligan" version for solid mount Sportys and will keep you posted on how we progress.

From what I understand, the most effective 2-1's have equal length headers.

What are the benefits to having them uneven like this setup, and can you provide some more information about your mufflers? My next step will be a 2-1 setup, and therefore I'm trying to gather as many pros/cons as I can for each setup.

Thank you for your time,

Brad

Nice looking! You get the solid mount one ready and I'd be interested.

Hi Brad,
Yes, equal length headers do work best (as a general rule). We designed the FiftyTwo the way we did because we wanted a pipe that worked well but also looked great. Instead of going equal length, we made the rear 1/2 the length of the front so the exhaust pulses were still timed and had good scavenging. That, combined with the merge collector, really lets the pipe breath and work great. We probably could have got more power if we made the pipes equal, but we would have lost out on looks... and we really dig the looks. As it is, we get great mid-rpm power starting around 2700 and pulling all the way to the rev limit. Besides that, it sounds freaking great! I would be interested to see how it stacks up against the other pipes out there, and feel pretty confident the FiftyTwo52 can hold its own. Maybe a shop wants to do a Sportster 2-1 shootout?

Thank you so much for the info and the quick reply. Maybe send one to Hammer Performance (They are on this site), and have (Pardon the Pun) hammered on many popular exhaust setups with dyno sheets as well. We love our Sportys and always curious.

Thanks for sharing this, looks like it would take a major effort to make sparks with it.

Does your pipe fit Sportys with factory forward controls? That and stainless construction would be features I would want. Any plans to offer naked stainless versions?

Send a set to hammer They have done lots of exhaust comparisons. Makes it even as it goes on the same bike same day. A truly fair comparison.

The FiftyTwo52 does fit with forward controls. We are actually considering making it in stainless but there are a lot of stainless options on the market so we are evaluating whether or not stainless is a good idea.
