Default Noise Bylaw passed

Well, new law for scoots in Edmonton

92DB's max at idle, measured at rear of scoot 1 meter(3.28') away
first offense $250.00 fine...goes up from there..with impound at third offense

I guess it was just a matter of time for this to happen, like the flu ,its going to spread all over the place.

you know that edmonton police has harley's in there fleet that are louder than 92db and that the city transit bus came out at 95 db i wouldnt worry to much if you get a fine fight it in court and say city busses are 95 i want all the busses to have quiter exhaust and dont use my tax dollars to replace it i want it to come out the mayors pocket its election time i think and that dork wants votes so screw him i heard tell that a couple guys bought a brand new harley took it down wyhte ave to the tim hortons and a stock bike brand new was over so we get a tickit regardless i say we all get on our bikes one day all of edmonton and ride hard through town they cant catch us all

95dcb at idle is still pretty freaking loud. What is your bike now? I dont think most people have much to worry about. If a city bus is 95dcb, those things are super loud. How loud do you want your bike to be?

That's so BS - biased aimed at motorcyclists. I'm no fan of obnoxious pipes but 92db is nothing compared to boom box cars. I had the impression that Canada was the Northern "home of the free", hockey nuts and moose burgers. Not that I like moose :-0) ! There are many towns and counties here in the U. S. That have db level laws that apply to anything on the public roadways....boom box cars incl. My personal choice was the SE 80503-07 slip ons for my 2007 because 1) warranty and 2) I don't want to get hassled like I used to for loud pipes on my FXEF. If I lived in Alberta I'd be writing a letter to the local news paper editorial page and provide the db levels for the public buses and anything else city owned or operated that tax money supports. Maybe an organized rally at tge seat of the local government by a by arear bikers and hot rodders would be fun.

I have a decibel meter and my ironhead was only 89db at idle, in a garage, from5 feet away and with dragpipes.

on the road it was too Eucking loud. so I went back to cycleshacks with mufflers. its still loud but not as ear shattering.
