Front brake cable anchor done.
Now the cable stays where it belongs in relation to the operating lever. Do the final adjustment and I'm on the road again.

Not sure why the difference in colors. Both shots are of the same bracket painted semi flat black. The picture of the bracket on the bike is after a light weathering with a piece of wet or dry sandpaper. First photo is with natural light, bracket on bike is with a flash.

Have had the bike out a few times and am wringing the bugs and design flaws out of it.
Changed out the Avon Speedmasters for Shinko 270 Super Classics front and rear. The Avons kept falling into the rain grooves California loves to cut into all the freeway road surfaces. Doesn't make for a very comfortable ride when it feels like the bike is continually trying to walk out from under you.
Rode it down to the shop where I work and took a picture or two. Hope to get a video of it on the road but I don't want to go the selfie stick route.
Here are pictures to enjoy. Color shot, shot of Shinko 3.00X21 mounted and balanced, and two I doctored with my editing program. B&Ws of the bike in front of our shop and a fellow worker watching me putting the bike up on the rear stand.

nice.the tread pattern on the Shinko reminds me of the old Goodyear super eagle from the 60's.

You're right brucstoudt.
I think it's good choice for a pattern that looks close enough to a '30s tread to carry the vintage look. And it sure feels more surefooted on the road than the Avons.
My brother pointed out that I'd done such a good job on the project that I managed to replicate the poor ride and handling of the board track bikes too.
