Default New Guy Here - Handlebar Question

I’m new to this bike but have already received a ton of good info from this site, so thanks for sharing all your expertise. I’m hoping you guys will be able to come through for me here.

I’ve recently acquired a ‘72 xlch. The bike was in great mechanical condition when I got it but, unfortunately, was missing many of its original parts as it had been modified over the years. At this point, aside from the engine and frame pretty much everything else has been altered. So, in a quest to spend as much money as foolishly as possible I’ve decided to do my best to return it to stock condition.

I’ve sourced and rebuilt a 33.4mm front end. The last issue was locating a set of two piece buck horns. I finally found a good set of bars, clamp, and a spiral throttle kit. Now I’m trying to figure out the controls on the bars. The bars have holes for two switches on the left side and one on the right. From what I can tell the two on the left are for horn and hi-beam/low-beam. The hole on the right side is a complete mystery to me. I have a shop manual and checked the wiring diagram which, if I’m reading it correctly, shows a “directional signal switch”. I don’t believe that the ‘72 came with turn signals, so what the heck goes there?

And maybe the starter button, if it has electric start.
