I know; it's an old thread...But when I read the title, I knew it was me...I always look in store windows when I ride by...Does the Ironhead really look as cool as I think it does???

Yes it does!

I look at my shadow on the ground, especially with the sun low in the sky, beside me.

Last weekend, I was at a stoplight next to a very clean, shiny black van. Great reflection. I thought "Man, that looks really cool."

I sit in the hot tub every morning with my 1st cup of Joe and stare at the sky. It clears my head and allows me to conceptualize my current build and how to do whatever machining or fabrication that’s required next.

Then, after I do the work, I stare at what I’ve got so far and decide if I’m satisfied.

If I am, I stare into two fingers of Scotch.

I have the previous build as wallpaper on my iPad and yes I do stare at that. Sometimes I even go back and view the pics of my Ironhead that I sold a few years back. Another source of inspiration.

I figure staring is a pretty harmless pastime. And coming in smelling of hot engine oil and wearing chain lube freckles, the wife should certainly know where you've been and what you've been up to.
Now if we could just break them of whining; "You spend how much for THAT?!? You know I've been wanting new drapes."

My remedy; two words-- "German" "Shepards". Always glad to see you no matter how late you're out, always glad to just hang out with you, and if you come home smelling like someone else~ they're just that much happier to see you.
