Default Anyone ever tried to rubber mount an Ironhead ?

Evo rubber mounts with a raw beast Ironhead ? Can it be done economically or just a pipe dream? No, I have no complaint with the CH, just wondering if some one did it?

I think it would be cool as hell to have an Iron Head with an EVO motor in it !

Not sure it could be done properly.

When they went to the rubber mounts they added an additional 80 pounds or so. Most of it in the Frame because in the pre-rubber mounts the engine was a stressed member of the frame. The engine itself, helps to re-enforce the frame.

You'd probably have to add some support members to the frame. Not sure how that could be done and still fit the engine with the rubber chunks added.

Would be an interesting fabrication problem though.

Rowe Machine makes a rubber mount softail frame for an XL motor.

Strange, their website is gone.

Mosey - What were the changes needed to fit the Ironhead into an EVO frame?

I have a plan to try it. I want a rubber mount button bike.

I'm leaning more toward Buell isolators than XL mounts. I have some preliminary drawings.

We'll have to see how far I get before reality rears it's ugly head.
