Default Harley parts for UK and Europe

Found this place for parts etc, i ordered a vacuum slide, cheaper by a long way than anywhere else. Might be somewhere better to get parts from for UK/Europe owners rather than ordering from the USA and paying silly postage rates.

What place? What's it called? Do you have a link?

You can't actually get Harley parts from the USA any more; haven't been able to for a while now.

The cheapest place I know of in the UK or Europe is Jersey H-D; no VAT! Is your place cheaper than them?

I put a link in my post, to a H-D dealer who has lower prices than many, thanks to the tax status of the island of Jersey in relation to the rest of the UK. I'm not sure if they can sell at those prices to elsewhere in the EU.

I'd still like to know what 'place' harley506d is talking about.

Barnaby Wilde, great name. I've bought a couple of bits from him, all good. As an Ironhead owner most of the stuff you can get in Blighty comes indirectly from Willem Boon in Holland.

Hi Guys,
Having just rebuilt the S at great expense I would confirm JW Boon being the most useful source and prices very reasonable compared to any UK source. Im not personally a lover of the Jersey HD route, 1) they dont give any discount and 2) they lump on postage which I essentially means any VAT savings are gone. Plus - possibly as they live on a tiny island - their customer service never seems too good.

HD UK generally give a 10% to HOG members so (depending how much you plan to spend) buy a membership and / or simply try and blag a 10%. - it often seems to fall to the mood of the saleman lol.

I would give up on ebay however using the worldwide search does turn up a lot of stuff the is either obsolete or not available any longer this side of the Atlantic.

All the best
R

It can be worth looking on eBay. I've picked up some parts at low prices; for example: a part that I imagine that the seller thought was a bolt on, and chickened out when they discovered that it required drilling a hole!

It's worth using misspelt variations of 'Sportster' as a search term too: Sporster, Sportser, etc. The seller, not realising why there's no interest in their item, may reduce the price.

You can also discover some non H-D parts, being made by individuals or small firms, that you might otherwise not know about at all.

For actual H-D parts though, especially current ones, I would go to Jersey H-D, or, say, Chester H-D (since they have an online shop).

I see that the eBay shop in the link in post #1 now "does not exist".
