Ok thanks. Tonight, I remove plugs and as expected they smell strong fuel. I kick 10 times to allow fuel ti escape easy. I cleaned the plugs and kick 10 times again then I put the spark plugs in.
Fuel line close, I kick 5 times and get nothing. I sprayed the air filter with “Fast starter spray” kick 2 times and got a “shot gun” answer with smoke escaping from air filter. Really loud. Ok I try again 4 times and the engine fire tree time very loud and smoke again from filter. I try again and get engine running short (perhaps 4 fires).
The drag pipes are so loud that I had to stop. It was late and don’t’ want my neighbour call the police.
Next time I have to find normal pipes that allow me to listen engine noise. I have some spare pipes for my 92 Sportster but brackets system are not same. Perhaps I have to try baffle kit for drag pipes but I suspect that they will not be efficient. What do you think?
BTW I’m surprised that my magneto twist only 5° ( a bracket that hold the S&S Super B avoid to move more).

Man! That is a freakin awesome bike, Blowup! You cannot do any better than that. Stick with it--- there is nothing more rewarding than learning how to live with a magneto Sportster. I have a 69 XLCH and it took me two years to learn how to kick her properly--- then, she was a reliable one-kick machine! she had an S&S Super E. I've known guys that had "B" carbs, and they're tough starting with a CH. Once you learn your CH, you'll find that time spent with any other bike is wasted....

Well I already spent 1 hour on this rear wheel to clean….
Hum the cylinders were paint in black, now the paint escape to show rusty iron.

I bought it on Ebay this summer, one week before the Louisiana’s deluge. It travel to Miami on an open truck and just went on the boat a day before the peak of Hurricane Matthew. It probably stay weeks outside in warm salty rain before to be loaded in a warm and hermetic container to let 100% humidity finishing the job of rust for the 10 days needed to arrive to Le Havre in France.
If you compare to what happened to unlucky population, my rusty bike is peanuts problem. So sorry for them.
I was surprised when I opened the Magneto to discover that the inside was like new. The same when I inspected the cylinder (when I removed the sparks plugs).

New toys sometime annoy me, I prefer used ones. It happen that I lost time to find interesting item of this bike rider’s year. I already found a Swiss clock, German and Swedish cameras of 1960. My Jaguar is only 20 years old; not easy to find a alive Chevy Corvette C1 or a Aston-Martin DB4 for 20k$.

Yesterday I was home during day time (Week-end) so I tried to start the loud monster. As the fuel leak is not resolved I have to cut fuel line and works with 1cc of fuel in the carb.
I kick 8 times with different position of Magneto and gas position and succeed to start the engine.
With this pity of fuel volume I succeed to check lights that works not so bad (The stop light is not correctly fixed and the front light is positioned to light the moon). Brake and the the 1st speed are ok(I have only a 50m long way in the garage. I expected the engine vibrations may help to resolve the fuel cut inside the carb.
That was not the case: Then I open fuel line and got a lot of fuel on the soil.

It’s urging to find normal pipes so I may check the engine anytime, I will remove the Super B carb to fix the fuel cut system.
I’m surprise how easy it is to kick this 883cc, with my 750 Triumph of 1979 it was a hell if I use normal shoes to kick.
BTW I had fun to ride it, the stroke is there and it seems perfect to use it daily as any modern Sportster.

Just care about braking on left side.
