I got these high road clearance rear shocks at Oley in april. I had new covers on my low road clearance shocks that were on the bike so I swapped covers on them yesterday and installed them on the bike today.one thing that got my attention is the low shocks had only 1 spacer washer in them the f.s.m.says 3 are standard.the high shocks had 4.

my recent ebay purchase before photo ] and after photo this is the 1958-'63 double derby primary cover.it's easy to spot a double derby from a few feet away.they have spot welds visible around the raised circular area around the clutch drum where the 2 pieces were joined together.

Looking good! Did you end up leaving the inside bare metal, or did you paint there as well?

thanks simon i'm glad you asked.there was some mild corrosion under the paint on the inside so I stripped the paint off there also.the more I looked at it the more I was convinced it would continue to spread contaminating my primary oil if I didn't seal it off from oxygen.so it got the rustoleum treatment also.inside and out.rustoleum primer and paint.
