Default plunger seat springs question

My parts catalog tells me the plunger springs fit years 54-70, but my bike is a 1972 and has the plunger seat tubes.

I think I can safely assume the Colony repro springs will fit but I want to double check with the experts...

FWIW, 9r's kit fits everything through 1972.

On my 72 one of the down tubes had a smaller internal diam than the other ?, so I had to make smaller bushes to suit.

1971 and 72 bikes may or may not accept a plunger style seat kit. After 1970 not all the seat base castings where machined for the bushings and some frames have thicker wall down tubes so the springs don't fit. Some even have one regular and one thick wall tube as stated above.

OEM and most repop springs are 13/16" O.D. ( .8125") The bushings are 1" O.D.

The springs in my kit are 3/4" which gives more clearance inside the tubes for rust, dents, etc. but they still don't fit the thick wall tube versions.
