Well like I said before I had gotten out the metal spring and other parts of the rubber but had left the whole front portion that was smushed on. Once I figured out with your help it needed to come out it came pretty easy with a hooked pick and was obvious then. I did remove the cover again to get a good look at everything again. A very simple replacement once realizing what's what, quite frustrating until then haha.
