Default worth using up ? (Lucas Oil Leak Stop)

Bought some Lucas oil leak stop for my metric bike , anyhow I only needed half the bottle so have some spare..

It states it will rejuvenate seals, rubber etc I was wondering if it's worth using the other 1/2 Litre in my sporty ? I have no leaks or perished seals/ rubbers that I know of but was wondering if it was worth throwing it in anyway as a " preventative" measure .

Cheers

I know it's tempting but if you have no leaks or perished seals/rubbers don't use it.

And if you do have leaks, it's not a permanent solution to fix them. It might contain some alcohol which let rubber seals swell a little. This means it will seal again....for a while....After that it might just get worse. Alcohol will eventually damage rubber.

That's the same old trick they use to do in motocross when the fork seals were leaking. They poured a little alcohol in the forks to ride it without time for a major fork overhaul before a match.

The only effective solution to stop leaks is new gaskets.

snake oil/band-aide at best. yes, it will swell the seals but it will also make them softer and more prone to failure catastrophically. an ole trick used in olden days was to put a can of brake fluid in the engine oil to stop leaks so it could be sold. how about some saw dust to stop the noisy chain???

Yes, well it wasn't a leak just a weep from my clutch housing case . I thought I would give it a try save me pulling the housing off as the front header needs to come off along with oil filter and housing and thought it was worth a shot

I have a lawn mower for left over stuff like that.

Marvel Mystery oil is the only thing I trust.
