Default SERIOUS 1275 engine issues!! PLEASE HELP!!

Alright guys I'm having some serious issues with my new build.

My current setup is 1275 with 30 degree reverse dome, impact head porting, impact air cleaner, mikuni hsr42, 560 cams, 2-1 thunderheader, s&s lifters.

When i start the bike, it runs good until it warms up but it is running so rich that the plugs are completely black. Even after about a 15-20 second start. I cannot for the life of me figure out why it is doing so.

A little back history. I had the 1250 kit with flat tops, stock heads, and a aftermarket 90 degree cone a/c with the hsr42 and 570 cams. My jets were 25 pilot, 160 main, needle in the middle. it ran like a champ but a tiny bit rich. nothing bad. When i went to pull the 1250 jugs off to put the 1275 on, the pistons were still somewhat clean as i only put 600 miles on them. I wanted the 30 degree reverse dome and hammer only had them in the 1275 so i went for it.

I installed the new jugs, checked my squish, installed the 560 cams, and buttoned everything up as normal.

When i started it for the first time it seemed like everything was fine. I did the break in like it is recommended on the hammer website and i went to go for my first ride. About 15 seconds into the first ride, it started to pop and drag extremely bad and couldn't even get about 1/8th throttle. I think i made it .25 miles on the first round trip. limped back to the house and pulled the plugs, Black as coal. i tried to start the bike again and nothing. So the next day i took a wire brush to the plugs, started the bike back up again and tried adjusting my A/F screw on the carb. I was able to pull the damn screw out and nothing changed. i had a mikuni choke cable on the carb and thought maybe my choke was sticking so i switch the the stock cable to see. same issue. so i was thinking maybe i installed the cams wrong and what not so i pulled the whole engine apart again and started over from scratch.

turned out my cams were all correct, i cleaned the heads up as they were black as hell, rechecked all my measurements and everything matched up correctly.

I took my 25 pilot jet out and switched it to the 20. started it up and still ran rich as all can be. i pulled the needle and put the clip one ring up to make it more lean, measured the float and im at 18 like the manual states, started the bike and still rich as hell. I pull the plug and the back was a little wet and black, and the front was dry and even darker.

so i let the bike sit for about 8 hours, went to go start it up to mess with the a/f screw and it sounded like a damn shotgun blast went off. scared the SH%T out of me and all my neighbors. so i just pushed the bike in the garage and threw my hands up.

Its beyond frustrating and I'm not getting much info from hammer performance on the issues. they asked about my ignition timing, which i rechecked and good. asked about my jets, which should be to small to begin with and cause it to run lean, and that was about it. I've emailed them multiple times and they do reply but told they don't know whats going on and thats the extent of the conversation.

can someone please help! i am at a loss, and after spending about 3000 for this setup i do not want to feel like i wasted my money.

DISCLAIMER: At no point am i pointing the finger at the parts hammer performance sold as i know they are not the root cause to this issue.

Since you checked most of the obvious things out, I would focus on the carb. It sounds like it is just dumping too much fuel. Fuel fouled spark plugs lose their efficiency almost right away, so having a couple of new sets on hand is a must. I'd say maybe a hotter plug, too, but it sounds like it doesn't run long enough to heat the plugs up. Good luck.

I don't have a manual for a 2001, but my 2006 manual says to check to see if piston atmosphere vents and piston vacuum vents are plugged or restricted. ??

Check the vacuum line from the petcock to the carb for wet fuel.
Mikuni has a bowl vent near the fuel inlet.
