I wonder if Eric Buell thinks its a Harley???

Although HD has complete control over the name, its clearly NOT a Harley...

Go here... www.harley-davidson.com and see if you can find a Buell...

You won't find one....

Even HD chooses to keep Buell as a separate line of motorcycles...regardless of the fact that they can be bought in some dealerships...

Despite what some want to believe, a Buell is NOT a Harley....its a Buell...

And this is said by someone who harbors no ill will against Buell...its a fine bike...but its NOT a Harley....

Question

So, since I have Buell S-1 heads, cylinders and pistons on my XLH Harley engine, what would it be then? Possibly an XLHBS-1203?
Or is this all BS and unnecessary because it all started when EB put an XL engine in a frame of his own design, H-D liked it, bought it over and made him head of R & D for Buell...

Actually - Eric was a Harley engineer who started his own company, then Harley purchased shares in it. I don't know who has the controlling shares, it may still be majority owned by EB...

This is an example of what I meant when I said anyone who knows the whole story knows that a Buell is a Buell. Clearly some folks don't know the whole story.

So is a custom chop a harley if it has a harley drivetrain? If they can be a harley and American Iron considers them to be then so is a Buell.

What about the Buell that uses the Rotax Motor? Other than the fact that Harley is the majority owner of Buell, there's very little about that bike that has anything to do with Harley.
