when this happens it's possible to dilute your oil with gas to the point it ruins your roller bearings.not an urban legend.

Yeh
I always turn off my '03, as the carb float misbehaves. My '81 has given me no reason...yet

It's a good thing to do though, I should probably do it with both bikes

Yep, I have two 05's. A Roadster and a Custom that is evolving into a Roadster with big front wheel.

So far no gas in the oil. I know for certain what that looks like from being a VW mechanic. When the diaphragm in the fuel pump cracks they dump fuel into the oil. It was very common.

i have a custom model myself,that 21''x3'' chopper wheel is getting replaced on mine also with 19''x3-1/2 factory wheel from the period. i have a matching rear wheel also to replace the fat boy wheel.
