Took my 93 out for a spin last night...i knew the tyres were a bit tired....no this is not a disaster story....
They are the original 1993 tyres ...300 0 mile son them ..been wanting got replace them any way...
but they were soft..
put 30 psi in them...
got 5 miles down the road..stopped at a mates farm...to pump them up again and chased home again by a more direct route....
That spurred me to try and get some tyres ordered...
Got a set of Kenda K761's on the way ..
ordered the smaller 90/90-19s for the front ...somethign that clears those bloody fender nuts ...so you can remove the bugger without first taking it off
4-6 weeks and they should be here But at least i still have the 04 883 and the 07 to ride

Replaced my 28 year old 2500 mile original Tyres on my 93 Sporty.
I did not want to change them as I only use the bike on dry days, on an island where we have 40 mph speed limit and ...I ride it like an old lady any way
but the side walls were cracked and and the tread was cracking ..and the from tyre kept going down ..so I though the worst that it was too far gone..
So I fitted a set of Kenda K761's.
But Shock Horror...when I took the front tyre off..it had a bloody nail in it... I could have got away with the old tyres for another few years.. not as if the bike gets used on regular basis, and they still had new tread on them.
So, do the new tyre handle any better than the old hard as rock ones... not as far as I can tell, not on dry roads at the speed I can ride at.
