Thumbs up What made the best Improvement to your Sporty??

What made the best Improvement, overall, to your Sporty? Out of all the things I've changed on my Sportster, the most significant was changing out the rear shocks to Progressive 412s.

Well we got her on the hardtail period jammer so can't take credit for that. Most important was by far the frame straightening (my pops was being told to sell it for a metric). Good friends did it fir a song, I wish I still had pictures if the jig, chains coming off every peice if wall, but it's at keast as straight as factory now (thank god for mild steel)

But, that wasn't an improvement, tbh we haven't made many if those. The adjustable main is a life saver though (I know I know, people hate it, but my main was spraying on kick, now it starts on 10ft shallow hill)

2nd maybe chrome replacements for the valve covers, really made a striking difference

883 to 1250 with 536 cams, those wake up the bike.

Changing the Michelin Conger Eels for Pirelli Night Dragons. The back end could step out in the dry on a stock 883 with Michelins!
At the same time I had Progressive fork springs & 430 shocks & a Mustang wide vintage touring seat fitted which transormed the comfort & handling.
EBC brake pads which I had used on my Honda & Triumph in the 70s also improved the brakes, especially in the wet.
A rack & bags made it a great bike for touring or running round town on errands
Classic coke bottle grips made it more comfortable
S & S teardrop air cleaner, Khromewerks slipons & Powervision tuner really perked up the performance.

19" front wheel, Metzler tires, Intiminator fork valves & Progressive 412 shocks. Nothing else is an improvement if the bike doesn't ride & handle well enough to be comfortable & safe.

The ignition key......every time I twist it and she roars to life puts a smile on my face.
