So is a custom chop a harley if it has a harley drivetrain? If they can be a harley and American Iron considers them to be then so is a Buell.

What about the Buell that uses the Rotax Motor? Other than the fact that Harley is the majority owner of Buell, there's very little about that bike that has anything to do with Harley.

Is a Saturn a GM?
I say No
Buell may have been spawned from H/D but it is on it's own.
If you take a H/D frame and seat and put an SS power plant into it is it a H/D?

The technical answer is look at the legal registration. That always gives the truth, not opinions. Just like American IronHorse, Big Bear Choppers, Big Dog, Titan, etc. are also not Harleys.

Some will say no... Some will say yes...You can title it as one since the title goes to the frame (go to DMV and change the engine #)..... but I know one thing.... it will run alot better.....

A Buell motorcycle is not a Harley! It is a Buell, manufactured by the Buell Motorcycle Company!

The Buell Motorcycle Company is an American motorcycle manufacturer based in East Troy, Wisconsin and founded by ex-Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell.

The company first partnered with Harley-Davidson in 1993, and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harley by 1998.

Harley-Davidson having majority control, Buell has been a subsidiary ever since. Buell has utilized modified Harley-Davidson Sportster engines to power their motorcycles.

Other than utilizing modified Sportster engines, Buell motorcycles have little else in common with Harley technology. In fact, it's construction is higher technology.
