Oil pressure switch testing
Need to know if the oil pressure switch is normally open or closed?! Having difficulty getting switch light to come on in on position.

I doubt anything has changed over the years so I would expect the oil switch to be closed when no pressure and so supply the ground to the oil light. When oil has some pressure the switch opens, the ground will be removed and the light goes out.

Should be able to get power to the switch via the tank cluster lighting for oil light running switch wire to ground side of light and power from main harness to light. The cluster is a sport bob 3 light.

Sounds like it's the switch. A new switch is something like $15.00. It's part # 26554-77D. Peace of mind is easily worth fifteen bucks.
