Default Microsquirt?

Who here has done an EFI conversion using Microsquirt on a rigid-mount?

I purchased the manifold, throttle body, and a harness (for the connectors) on eBay today. We're in the slow season at work so I plan on doing a lot of random stuff to the bike, one of them being converting it to EFI using the Microsquirt that I'll be picking up soon.

I've got experience playing with fuel maps and whatnot on my '11 Street Glide, and have done an EFI conversion on my dad's 1982 Bronco, but this will be my first expedition into a complete DIY system. From what I've read on the subject, the hardest part (aside from actually physically assembling the setup) will be the initial programming. I'm using the Micro for fuel only, relying on an Ultima ignition for the spark, so that will be one less thing I have to worry about.

The bike was a wreck/rebuild when I got it, and I've since done a complete floor-up rewire on the bike to replace the butchered wiring job from the previous owner, so I'm pretty confident I can handle that aspect of it. I think my biggest challenges are going to be setting up the fuel system (I thought about using a HaDaMoCo in-tank pump, but decided on going in-line so I can keep my existing tank), and being able to find space to actually mount everything.

If anyone has any experience with this and can provide any useful pointers, it would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a microsquirt from diyautotune for my '03. I'll be going ignition only at first. Once that's up and running, I'll start on the fuel system. What will you run for a trigger?

Since I am going to be doing fuel only, I was going to use the tach output on my Ultima ignition.

Will megasquirt use that tach output? I thought it needed a distinct pattern?

You can use a tach output if you're going fuel-only. Would be much the same as using the negative coil terminal. You just can't do any ignition programming with it. I already have a programmable ignition that I'm quite happy with, so there's really not a need for it.
