I've ended up giving so many batteries that will nearly turn my bike over to people for their lawnmowers that I'll only by HD batteries these days.

HD makes a great glass mat battery. But, there's little weight savings.

I put a Shorai on my 1991 almost 5 years ago. Saved 10 pounds, took a huge strain off my battery tray, eliminated having to remove and check water every month, put my battery charger away, never bought nor used a tender. Instant start every time.

Case Closed. Lithium battery for my Sportster was probably some of the best money I've ever spent on anything.

Wish I'd have thought of that

Mine arrives Friday

Fitted a JMT HJTX14AH-FP-SWIQ yesterday I must say after the two batteries I've had in the last 4 years this is a completely different animal. (it's so light and smaller)

When it arrived I pressed the test button which reported that it was fully charged.
Fitted it straight away, though I had to use spacer as the terminals are inset.

Fired it up ..... just WOW! the cranking power is noticably much greater.
I then killed it and started it 3 times (still seemed strong but didn't want to push my luck) took it out (20) miles.

Garaged it, the battery is still showing 13.75v next morning (no optimiser used yet).

It was not that expensive £114 ($150) from ebay.
Harley original lithium is £204 STD £135ish

I will come back with any issues that crop up (its surely not going to go this well)
