Default New sporty starting problems

The other day I posted that I had 4 error codes on my 07 1200C. Someone suggested the relays. I swapped out the two relays with the ones from working 07 1200L and the diagnostics now give zero errors. But it still won't start. I bought two relays and put in my 1200L to get that back to working.

I hear the fuel pump kick in when I turn the 1200C on, it's getting good spark (put in new plugs anyway). Both batteries are at 13.2 volts after being on the tender. But it won't start.

Any ideas?

What's odd is that sometimes if I hold in the clutch when trying to start I can hear from the exhaust that it tried to fire

2007 was the first year for the 'Neutral' and 'Clutch Lever' interlocks to be implemented in the TSM... If in gear (or failed Neutral Switch), the Clutch Lever must be pulled in order to start the bike... It is the Starter Relay that is prevented from operating if the interlocks are not right....

Did the Start Button turn over the motor?

You said it wouldn't start but didn't explain whether you meant the engine wouldn't turn over or the starter turns it over but it won't fire up...

You also said it has spark --- Did you mean when trying to start or just when testing the coils?

good info mr. lax

if you removed power from the ecu, the codes could have been erased. there are soft and hard codes, some readable and some only with scan tool.
some codes are erased after so many start cycles and/or scan tool and some by loss of power.
all seem suspect of low voltage / high resistance on the system relay circuit.
this is where noids and inline spark tester come in handy.

Had spark plugs connected and it has good spark. Starter turns it over but won't fire. It does fire with starter fluid.

starter fluid, i cringe when i see it used.
however, you now know it is fuel.

Did you pull the plugs and see the spark, a white spark will not run the bike, it will however; back fire out the exhaust, it should be a fat blueish spark, so if you are sure you have a "good" spark, then the only thing missing is fuel, unless you have something blocking airflow.

A white little snap on the plugs usually is a good indicator of a bad ignition.

It fires WITH starting fluid? Check that it's getting fuel?

Poor harness ground would affect injectors.
Suggested on previous thread, but no reply.
Injector connections should also be checked.
Could also be bad fuel.
Could also be major vacuum leak.
