I'm with the air-cooled easy maintenance crowd. Less is more imo, and seemingly early harly techs as well (you see drain plugs and that wierd thing on the front sprocket dissappear, oil routes disappearing in Lou if tank to pump lines. It seems it's not until the epa stepped in that they added things.
I get modern machines will blow me away on a quarter, but I wouldn't trade even my old beat up ironhead for one of them. (I would consider a second bike, but I'd tryn find a knuckle or a shovel fir cruising or a metric for hitting the twisties as hard as possible (wish beull was still around) but it'd have to be some kind of deal to good to be true for me to buy an HD new)
But, I like how they look, especially with a factory ape option I believe, Just seems like newer is half way between performance and style. Great if you could only have one bike I suppose, but I dream in full measures.
These are simply my opinions though, possibly bias by previous situations and definitely not an objective measurement. You do you brother, just try and make sure there's no fbi off switch or anything!

My biggest complaint about that bike has nothing to do with the engine...
I can't get past that gawd awful license plate setup. The fat front tire and weird headlight are no picnic either.
